Materials Technology for Year 9

Do you like making things with your hands? Ever wanted to design your own gear, sew something cool, or build a project in the workshop? This course is all about creating real things – and having fun while you learn!

You’ll get to:

• Use fabric (textiles) to sew and apply designs to your own items

• Work with wood or other materials in the workshop to build creative projects

• Design your own ideas and figure out how to turn them into something awesome

• Learn how to use tools and equipment safely

• Work by yourself and with your friends to make decisions that meet the need of your brief

• Take your finished projects home to show off when they are complete.

We’ll guide you step-by-step through fun design challenges where you’ll solve real problems, learn how to plan your ideas, and use your creativity to make something unique.
