Level 3 Earth and Space Science

Course Description

This course covers a wide range of Earth and Space Science that will give students scientific knowledge of the world around us. We will investigate New Zealand and/or worldwide issues such as the movement of the Alpine Fault, the potential effects of a meteorite strike, the effects of ocean acidification, whether there is life on other planets or how we can protect a local natural environment. We also focus on atmospheric and/or oceanic processes. It is suitable for students wishing to have a career in Geology, Marine Science and Environmental Science. Five standards will be assessed from those listed, allowing for 20 credits to be assessed. 


Entry Requirements

12 credits from any Year 12 Science subject or 12GEO. Students not meeting this requirement may be admitted at the discretion of the HOD.
