Course Description

Year 12 Sport and Recreation

This course is a practically orientated course with students participating in a range of activities: potentially including Squash, Golf, Snorkelling, Tennis, Touch, Korfball, Softball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Ki-o-rahi, Volleyball and Lacrosse. Students will study coaching skills and techniques, as well as leadership, social responsibility and risk management. They will have the opportunity to further develop their individual skills in areas of expertise. The course is generally 80% practical and 20% theory.

Final decision is at the discretion of the HOD.

Contributions and Equipment

Approximately $20.00 for transport/ venue entry depending on the choice of practical activities.

A diverse range of careers involving physical activity, both being active and supporting others to be active eg Professional Sportsperson, Physio, Recreation Manager, Physical Trainer

You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
