The year 9 music course focuses on developing a strong musical foundation by introducing Äkonga to a broad range of music concepts and skills. Students will learn basic guitar and keyboard skills. They will learn to compose and record music using computer-based music sequencing software. Students will explore music through a range of music topics and genres and will learn to perform music in class. The year 9 music program is ideal for anyone interested in learning about music, regardless of their prior musical experience.
Students who choose music as an option are eligible for subsidised instrumental music lessons through our Itinerant music lessons scheme.
