The Social Sciences are the Humanities – the study of the diversity of people.
Te ao tangata | social sciences encourage ākonga to observe, to wonder and be curious about people, places, and society, and to take an interest and engage in social issues and ideas.

As the Social Sciences is about diversity, a diverse range of subjects are also on offer: Accounting, Business, Classical Studies, Commerce, Economics, Geography, History, Legal Studies, Media Studies Psychology and Tourism. Social Studies is the compulsory Social Sciences course in the junior school.
